Making Pinwheel Blocks - fast and easy

This method makes half square triangles in a fast and easy way.

It is quite accurate.

I used 5" squares in my sample. You need two squares.

Put them right sides together.

         Sew all around it, 1/4" from edge. Using a 1/4 edged-foot will add accuracy.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

                      When you get to the edge of each corner, sew right off the edge.

                      

                                  Viola! You have four half square triangles.

Press them open.

Sew them together as in diagram below.

Easy peasy, and can be use in many ways. 

Here, I have made a pinwheel block.
