'Strippy' Table Runner

This table runner can be made using scraps or with fabric yardage.

Fabric A – floral print – cut as follows:
            One 10” x 10” square
            Two 10 3/8” x 10 3/8” squares – cut these in half diagonally

Fabric for strips: B) 1/8 yard each of 3 prints: I used purple, pink, lavender
                              C) 1/2 yard of pink for strips and for borders
Cut as follows:
            Cut 2 strips of each of B, 1½” wide x 42”
            Cut four strips pink C, 1½” x 42”

For borders, using pink:
Cut two lengths, 2” x 29” for sides of runner
Cut four lengths, 2” x 18” for the sides of the four triangle corners

Using strips, sew along long sides as follows (if using scraps, anything goes):
Make two sets: Sew blue to pink to green to purple to pink (5 strips)

Press the strip-set seams to one side.
Place set on cutting board, as in picture.
Following the 10 3/8” line on the ruler (I have placed a piece of tape to indicate my line),
cut along the base line at a 45 degree angle.

Cut 8 sets of triangles

It does not matter which set you sew to the block and diagonally cut triangles but this is what I did for a coordinated look:

Sew pink edged triangle set to the 10” square

Sew blue edged triangle set to the diagonally-cut triangles.

A simple way to do flip and sew by sewing strips into sets.
HAPPY SPRING!
